Fashion : Identity .

Hi. ( : It's been a few Months since I've posted, so here it goes! I have been growing daily & I am truly overwhelmed with joy. The fact that God showers the biggest Blessings upon someone as small as myself is more than words can express. God's ample amount of love is beyond this world! I'm choosing to be humble, to come with a humble heart, mind & spirit, & obtain further wisdom, knowledge & understanding. I am on a never-ending mission to help those in need, whether it may be financially or just by speaking a kind word..or two..or three. :) I am what I am by the Grace of my Heavenly Father & I want to share my wealth with others. We are all underserving of His mercy, but He loves us anyway!! To say the least, I am blossoming. <3 Y`all can't tell me God isn't REAL!!

God Is Always Near..

God's Grace by Jean Penner

On a wintry night surrounded in peace,
Snowflakes tattooing the air,
Echoes of grace whisper in joy
That God is as near as a prayer.

Looking from Heaven to the eyes of His child,
His gaze melts the fears of the day,
Like a comforting hug, He soothes us with love,
A promise He won’t look away.

Eyes ever watching the joys in our lives,
Ready to ease all our pain,
God waits to reach out and capture our tears,
And turn them to snowflakes again.

Looking from Heaven to the face of His child,
God’s smile warms the depths of our soul,
Caressing our hearts with compassion,
Keeping us warmed in the cold.

In the dark of the night, His presence is near,
His love like a shimmering glow,
Emitting a peace that covers our lives,
God’s grace falling down as the snow.

Using the flakes that drift from His hand,
He gingerly shapes us with grace,
Keeping us near in the image of Him,
Shining His light on our face.

On a wintry night surrounded in peace,
Snowflakes tattooing the air,
We look up to Heaven and know with a smile -
That God is as near as a prayer.

LOVE Is..

God's Grace: The New Fashion.

Fashion isn't all about outside appearance, but inside as well. What better way to show off any style than with the display of God's Grace?? :) It priceless! God's Grace is a beautiful thing that we may not fully understand right now, that we may forget at times because of breing sidetracked, that may seem " out of season" for some, but at the end of the hour, day, Month, season, Year..It is still here..fresh, pure, brandnew, attractive, warm, welcoming, rare..yet, beautiful & it gives us Life.

I'm Still Learning How To Wear God's Grace.

After The Storm, There HE Is.

PROBLEMS, DILEMMAS, STRUGGLES, DISAPPOINTMENTS, WORN OUT, TUGGED, STRETCHED... A few words we each experience. Sometimes, you just want to pull out those pair of spiritual scissors & cut all of the negative vibes. Although things will never stay the same, whether good or bad, you should know that through it all you are BLESSED! Troubles throughout your years are only recurring lessons.. learn! :) For a few weeks, I've been in situations where I observed things that put me in an uncomfortable place -- I became nervous, began to have second thoughts of excelling & was close to doubting my own Gift. The subject of my experience isn't important, but I share this with you because I, myself learned (from observation, great friends & that ONE counsel in my ear) that you have to be strong when facing the adversary. *FAITH!* We speak it, Let's have it, Let's show it! Being strong in certain areas/careers is definitely easier SAID than done, it takes time for many, trust me, I'm a witness, but remember to believe in yourself. Work from the inside, out. If you have goals & you know that you are capable of exceeding beyond your own expectations or that you have no limit, keep that in mind. Even when things do get rough, take time out (even if only for a few seconds), relax, search for that still, sacred place inside of you, take a deep breath & prepare to come out & face the world again & again & again. There comes a time in every ones life when we all reach a breaking point. What many of us don't understand is that the breaking point is the best point. It doesn't break you, rather becomes your breakthrough to a better you. Stay consistent. Roll with the punches. But trust.. The light (God's Glory) is close. <3

Why Women Like Flowers :)

One of the best & easiest ways to bring a smile to a woman's face is to bring her flowers.

THEY ARE TRADITIONAL

The giving of flowers stretches waaay back into the far reaches of history. The Greeks & Egyptians gave symbolic meanings to the flowers long ago, some of which we still use today. In the Victorian era, these meanings were used as a complex message system, signaling everything from romantic love to forlorn rejection. In fact, when a man, in this time, wanted to start officially courting a woman, he would present her with a bouquet of flowers to begin the ritual. Flowers are a timeless symbol of love & affection, & every woman loves to be adored!

THEY PLAY TO OUR SENSES

The wonderful thing about a bouquet of flowers is that they are a multi-sensory experience. The myriad colors are a feast for our eyes, & the smells that come from the open blooms are simply divine. Also, a flower's petals are soft & smooth to the touch. Flowers provide stimulation for the senses, & give a woman a moment to stop her busy day to immerse herself in the smell, sight, & feeling of her precious bouquet.

WHEN A MAN BRINGS YOU FLOWERS, HE'S NOT AFRAID TO STEP OUT OF HIS COMFORT ZONE!

For men, buying flowers is not a natural instinct. When a man buys flowers for a woman he is often venturing out of his comfort zone. While he may not know much about flowers, a man who buys his woman a bouquet feels deeply enough for her to endure some discomfort in order to make her happy. Just the thought of a man going out on a limb for her will make most women insanely happy. :)

Different Counsels In My Ear, Yet Only ONE, to Me, Seems Clear.

First, Happy New Year to all the lovely people out there. God is truly an encore God...for HE has given us another chance to become greater! I see the best in you all! :)

Now.. although this is a fashion site, I'd like to share my heart with you. <3 Although I don't know the entire world, I deeply desire for Everyone to be happy & successful. For those dreamers: Hold on. Continue to study into what you'd like to pursue & become comfortable with yourself while doing it. To all of my poets: PLEASE keep painting beautiful pictures/stories with your words...Poetry is love, seriously. By the way, poetry can be created anywhere, from anyone..even if only in your heart. I love you guys. For those of you with the gift of Sound :) ... to me, singing is like dreaming with your voice. No one sounds like you (whether good or bad. Lmbo.) & no one feels what you do when you use your vocals. Singing is alittle piece of Heaven..it soothes the soul. To the wonderful dancers of all kinds: Do it & do it WELL! However you choose to define 'Well,' do it! To dance is to be out of yourself & to become more wonderful, more brilliant, more powerful. When I dance, I like to think that the focus is on my inner self..to dance is to hear my heart speak & that's a part of why I enjoy it so much. If you'd like to act, let me tell you...if you can walk, talk, crawl, make different facial expressions, you can act & you can perfect it to your satisfaction as well. Get out there -- network! You are who you say you are & I believe everyone is capable of the greatest achievement possible AND beyond. Whatever it is you'd like to do..keep your faith & have fun! Faith makes all things possible...all things! I have Faith in all of you.

This picture represents Faith. You plant ONE little seed & you're returned with a mulitude of flowers. If you have the SMALLEST amount of Faith, you are returned with more than what you've asked for....Try it! :)

*Precious Stone*

Pearl, a miracle of nature. Marvel in the water, just like the moon falling into the night sky. Pearl also is a symbol of happy, reflects the elegance of life, looks very dignified & generous.

(Age of the..) Pearl's Symbolical Significance

Pearls have been treasured around the world for thousands of years. Although there are many sizes, shapes and colors, natural white lustrous pearls formed by salt water mollusks, usually oysters, have generally been the most highly prized type of this natural gemstone. But beyond their monetary value, pearls have embodied different cultural, social and religious meanings and have played an important role in many cultures.

Ancient Cultures

In virtually all cultures, in all times, pearls have been a symbol of luxury & wealth. In ancient Asian literature, pearls are mentioned as gifts for royalty and tributes to gods. Some Chinese myths suggested that pearls were formed in the brains of dragons, others suggested their luster was powerful enough to cook rice. The Chinese also believed that pearls had the power to protect them from fires and other disasters. In Japan, pearls were believed to be a type of good luck charm. Early Greek and Roman cultures associated pearls with the moon

A Symbol of Health
In addition to being a sign of prosperity, many cultures considered pearls a symbol of health & well being. Pearls were also often ground into powder and added to medicinal tonics and ointments. Ancient Asian cultures used pearls to treat weak eyes and as an antidotes for poisons In China, pearls were believed to have the power to cure deafness. Arabian doctors used pearls to as a remedy for heart palpitations and nervous tremors. Some European medical texts dating from the Middle Ages refer to pearls as a cure for depression & insanity.

Pearls and Brides
Many cultures associate the white, lustrous pearl with the virtue of purity. Because of that association, pearls are repeatedly mentioned as wedding ornaments or gifts to brides. Some historians believe this cultural tradition is rooted in the ancient Hindu text which describes the god, Krishna, presenting a pearl to his daughter on her wedding day. In addition to symbolizing a bride's innocence and honesty, pearls were seen as a symbol of a happy marriage.

Colors and Meaning
While white pearls are associated with purity & innocence, other colors took on different meanings at different times. Black and gold pearls were symbols of success and prosperity, with gold pearls sometimes being associated with wisdom. Pearls with a rose-colored hue are mostly commonly a symbol of a strong and passionate heart. Pearls with a silver luster were sometimes used as a symbol of dignity, self-control and patience.

Pearls and Faith
Pearls have also been valued for their perfection and mystical or spiritual power. Those qualities have led to peals being incorporated in many faith traditions. Ancient Egyptians buried their dead with pearls because the gems were valued as symbols of rebirth and regeneration. In the Koran, pearls are described as the perfect reward found in Paradise. Buddha is often depicted hold a pearl ,and many consider the gem to be a symbol of his power. In Christian texts, pearls are often used to represent the word of God as well as the kingdom of God specifically with the pearl gates of heaven

Style Tips From The Experts

Heidi Klum: "Wear something you feel gorgeous in and don't try too hard; it's much sexier when it appears effortless. Clothes that don't fit, or don't fit the wearer's personality, don't help."

Donatella Versace: "The most valuable item in your wardrobe is not a piece of clothing; it is an accessory. With a quick switch of a handbag or a pair of shoes, you can instantly change your look and mood."

John Galliano: "Glamour today is confidence, independence, not giving a damn, going for it and indulging your desires - in fashion, life and living."

Ralph Lauren: "Breaking rules is what makes clothes interesting. I love mixing fabrics and shapes in unexpected ways - classic with modern, rugged with elegant."

Finding Your Fashion: Be Your Own Fashion Guru\How To Find Your Own Sense Of Style

Fashion can take you anywhere you want to go, as long as you're up-to-date ..

But style is personal. There is no herd to follow. There are no rules. There are no seasons. Style comes from within, from knowing who you are & who you want to be; not from wanting to be somebody else, or wanting to be thinner, shorter, taller, prettier.
Many of the most stylish women in the world have not been great beauties - think Lauren Hutton with her gap-toothed smile or Barbra Streisand and her Grecian nose - but have drawn from an enormous amount of self-confidence.
They made us think they were beautiful simply by believing it themselves.
--As I've stated multiple times, be yourself ---be COMFORTABLE being YOU & be the best YOU.

If You're Not Feeling Something, Just Feel It. =)

Come on .. let's be honest! We all have those moments when we either don't feel like preparing an outfit or we decide to throw anything together, knowing we may not like it. Lol.. As I've stated before, it's not what you wear, it's what makes you feel comfortable. Just as any artists.. when they're beginning to create an (unknown) masterpiece, they may not always think highly of the first, second, or even third piece of material put together.. Do you know that, that's when the most GENIUS forms of art are birthed?? Style is indeed a form of art, for it involves a process of deliberately arranging certain elements in a way that influences & affects the senses, emotions &/or intellect. It's a SKILL or MASTERY. Hence, whenever, you think someone may not approve of what you wear or if even you think that you may look a bit "weird.." try it out anyway .. You never know who you're influencing=)

In My Own Little World : But You All Are Welcomed:)

My style is my own. Sometimes, I can be a jean & fitted-shirt gal & other times I'm all dolled up with heels & a dress! Best described as a chameleon because I switch things up so much, from my hair to eyeliner all the way down to clothes & shoes. When it comes to dressing, I don't like being in that mold where a person goes, "I have an idea of what Jei is going to wear today." I like to surprise the people(Lol). It's fun to play dress-up in the house, coordinating different outfits ---putting one piece of an outfit with a totally different piece of another. Diversity flows through me. I'm bold ---don't care about what others think of me, because I'm being me & when I'm myself, I'm at my free-est (if that's a word) & most highest point. Being myself is the easiest thing I can do in this life & I love it. I consider myself a Warriorette because I possess & present a certain level of bravery for myself as well as others. I'm unashamed, unafraid, free, welcoming & hold my own in so many aspects, especially when it comes to the way I maintain my appearance. When it comes to hair, my styles vary like the seasons .. I experiment it all, mostly, from wrapped hair, twists, curls, ponytails, Mohawks, natural curls, or the "free" look(that's the, I'm just going to put a headband on top this & call it a day/free. Lol.). I lOve being free-spirited & you can probably tell because I use the word "free" freely. Haha!:) When I dress, I represent Jei. <3 Remember to be comfortable!

Fashion .. blaH/Blah/bLah .. let's be Warriorettes/Warriors ;)

It's 2010 & everyone has their opinion about what's "in" & what's not. ---Let's try to embrace alittle alteration. ♥

It takes a Warrior(guy) & a Warriorette(gal) to be bold & to not allow anyone to make them feel low about what they wear and/or how they wear it, no matter if it was made in the new millineum or in the 18th century! Trust me.. style has nOoOo expiration date! Although a certain fashion may only look good in its time, you can step out of the box & extended that fashion (which is in the 'now') & turn it into your own style!

Be brave & unafraid. Be free & express your creativity. Be sensitive, lay aside your pride. Be extraordinaire, be a champion, conquer the world through style, ...be a Warrior/Warriorette. ^_^

Michael Jackson: A Fashion Retrospective

Since the early days of the Jackson Five, Michael Jackson has set himself apart from every other musical artist with his tremendous talent, but also utterly unique sense of style. From his bell-bottoms and Afro as a child star to his current military inspired suits, his fashion statements are etched permanently into our memory banks. Regardless of your particular opinion of Michael Jackson, it is undeniable that he has driven fashion and style to a whole new level.

Who could forget the famous "Billie Jean" single white glove?

Wearing a classic black suit with an open white collar may seem pretty tame for the man in question, until you look at his feet. Jackson wore thick white socks with black shiny loafers, instantly giving a classic look new flair and originality.

Jheri Curl
Military Jacket Influence
In the beginning .. Michael Jackson burst upon the pop scene in the early 1970’s wearing fringed shirts, platform heels, and wide bell-bottom pants. With a “Huggy Bear” inspired hat to top off his look, he delighted crowds with his astonishingly polished stage presence. If you are attracted to this era of Michael Jackson, try paisley shirts, and suede vests.
