Fashion is more than just a material entity; it's a creation & expression of oneself. You don't have to wear what everyone else wears -- black on black, white on white .. SWITCH IT UP! Originality! This website is designed to inspire and reassure that fashion is more than just a piece of clothing on one's back, I want to show you that it is true & diverse colors. Don't just wear fashion, live it, create it & renew it.

*Precious Stone*
(Age of the..) Pearl's Symbolical Significance
Pearls have been treasured around the world for thousands of years. Although there are many sizes, shapes and colors, natural white lustrous pearls formed by salt water mollusks, usually oysters, have generally been the most highly prized type of this natural gemstone. But beyond their monetary value, pearls have embodied different cultural, social and religious meanings and have played an important role in many cultures.
Ancient Cultures
In virtually all cultures, in all times, pearls have been a symbol of luxury & wealth. In ancient Asian literature, pearls are mentioned as gifts for royalty and tributes to gods. Some Chinese myths suggested that pearls were formed in the brains of dragons, others suggested their luster was powerful enough to cook rice. The Chinese also believed that pearls had the power to protect them from fires and other disasters. In Japan, pearls were believed to be a type of good luck charm. Early Greek and Roman cultures associated pearls with the moon
A Symbol of Health
In addition to being a sign of prosperity, many cultures considered pearls a symbol of health & well being. Pearls were also often ground into powder and added to medicinal tonics and ointments. Ancient Asian cultures used pearls to treat weak eyes and as an antidotes for poisons In China, pearls were believed to have the power to cure deafness. Arabian doctors used pearls to as a remedy for heart palpitations and nervous tremors. Some European medical texts dating from the Middle Ages refer to pearls as a cure for depression & insanity.
Many cultures associate the white, lustrous pearl with the virtue of purity. Because of that association, pearls are repeatedly mentioned as wedding ornaments or gifts to brides. Some historians believe this cultural tradition is rooted in the ancient Hindu text which describes the god, Krishna, presenting a pearl to his daughter on her wedding day. In addition to symbolizing a bride's innocence and honesty, pearls were seen as a symbol of a happy marriage.
Colors and Meaning
While white pearls are associated with purity & innocence, other colors took on different meanings at different times. Black and gold pearls were symbols of success and prosperity, with gold pearls sometimes being associated with wisdom. Pearls with a rose-colored hue are mostly commonly a symbol of a strong and passionate heart. Pearls with a silver luster were sometimes used as a symbol of dignity, self-control and patience.
Pearls and Faith
Pearls have also been valued for their perfection and mystical or spiritual power. Those qualities have led to peals being incorporated in many faith traditions. Ancient Egyptians buried their dead with pearls because the gems were valued as symbols of rebirth and regeneration. In the Koran, pearls are described as the perfect reward found in Paradise. Buddha is often depicted hold a pearl ,and many consider the gem to be a symbol of his power. In Christian texts, pearls are often used to represent the word of God as well as the kingdom of God specifically with the pearl gates of heaven

Style Tips From The Experts
Heidi Klum: "Wear something you feel gorgeous in and don't try too hard; it's much sexier when it appears effortless. Clothes that don't fit, or don't fit the wearer's personality, don't help." |
John Galliano: "Glamour today is confidence, independence, not giving a damn, going for it and indulging your desires - in fashion, life and living." |
Ralph Lauren: "Breaking rules is what makes clothes interesting. I love mixing fabrics and shapes in unexpected ways - classic with modern, rugged with elegant." |

Finding Your Fashion: Be Your Own Fashion Guru\How To Find Your Own Sense Of Style
Fashion can take you anywhere you want to go, as long as you're up-to-date ..
But style is personal. There is no herd to follow. There are no rules. There are no seasons. Style comes from within, from knowing who you are & who you want to be; not from wanting to be somebody else, or wanting to be thinner, shorter, taller, prettier.
Many of the most stylish women in the world have not been great beauties - think Lauren Hutton with her gap-toothed smile or Barbra Streisand and her Grecian nose - but have drawn from an enormous amount of self-confidence.
They made us think they were beautiful simply by believing it themselves.

--As I've stated multiple times, be yourself ---be COMFORTABLE being YOU & be the best YOU.

If You're Not Feeling Something, Just Feel It. =)
Come on .. let's be honest! We all have those moments when we either don't feel like preparing an outfit or we decide to throw anything together, knowing we may not like it. Lol.. As I've stated before, it's not what you wear, it's what makes you feel comfortable. Just as any artists.. when they're beginning to create an (unknown) masterpiece, they may not always think highly of the first, second, or even third piece of material put together.. Do you know that, that's when the most GENIUS forms of art are birthed?? Style is indeed a form of art, for it involves a process of deliberately arranging certain elements in a way that influences & affects the senses, emotions &/or intellect. It's a SKILL or MASTERY. Hence, whenever, you think someone may not approve of what you wear or if even you think that you may look a bit "weird.." try it out anyway .. You never know who you're influencing=)

In My Own Little World : But You All Are Welcomed:)
My style is my own. Sometimes, I can be a jean & fitted-shirt gal & other times I'm all dolled up with heels & a dress! Best described as a chameleon because I switch things up so much, from my hair to eyeliner all the way down to clothes & shoes. When it comes to dressing, I don't like being in that mold where a person goes, "I have an idea of what Jei is going to wear today." I like to surprise the people(Lol). It's fun to play dress-up in the house, coordinating different outfits ---putting one piece of an outfit with a totally different piece of another. Diversity flows through me. I'm bold ---don't care about what others think of me, because I'm being me & when I'm myself, I'm at my free-est (if that's a word) & most highest point. Being myself is the easiest thing I can do in this life & I love it. I consider myself a Warriorette because I possess & present a certain level of bravery for myself as well as others. I'm unashamed, unafraid, free, welcoming & hold my own in so many aspects, especially when it comes to the way I maintain my appearance. When it comes to hair, my styles vary like the seasons .. I experiment it all, mostly, from wrapped hair, twists, curls, ponytails, Mohawks, natural curls, or the "free" look(that's the, I'm just going to put a headband on top this & call it a day/free. Lol.). I lOve being free-spirited & you can probably tell because I use the word "free" freely. Haha!:) When I dress, I represent Jei. <3 Remember to be comfortable!

Fashion .. blaH/Blah/bLah .. let's be Warriorettes/Warriors ;)
It's 2010 & everyone has their opinion about what's "in" & what's not. ---Let's try to embrace alittle alteration. ♥
It takes a Warrior(guy) & a Warriorette(gal) to be bold & to not allow anyone to make them feel low about what they wear and/or how they wear it, no matter if it was made in the new millineum or in the 18th century! Trust me.. style has nOoOo expiration date! Although a certain fashion may only look good in its time, you can step out of the box & extended that fashion (which is in the 'now') & turn it into your own style!
Be brave & unafraid. Be free & express your creativity. Be sensitive, lay aside your pride. Be extraordinaire, be a champion, conquer the world through style, ...be a Warrior/Warriorette. ^_^
